Do luxuries prevent us from being Strong and Independent?

The rise of technological advancements has produced numerous scientific inventions that one would have not evolved in the figment of imagination some two decades back. The simple gadget like a remote control has revolutionized the way machines are handled. The kids being mollycoddled by luxuries is a concern for the parents allover the world. The physical labour done has been reduced manifolds. But are the present day luxuries the sole impediments in the path of an individual attaining strength and independence?

The excessive use of gizmos and gadgets for our daily chores has indeed led to fitness concerns. The daily jog in the park and a little bit of exercise is an obligation for the teenagers. Kids turning overweight, courtesy the double-cheese Mc.Donalds hamburger along with Coca Cola is a common site in all neighbourhood. The problem is not only with the kids. Even young men and women face acute joint problems in their early thirties. But we have benefited manifolds from the luxuries and technology than being a victim of it.

The online shopping portals provides you the leverage of ordering your monthly groceries right at your doorstep without have to spend an entire afternoon at the nearby retail store. It would definitely stave you off a few calories that you might have spent following your routine. Even though the morning walk has given way to ultra-tech gymnasium services within the apartments as the speaker might feel, but we have more benefits attached to it. The working schedules for people working have become exorbitantly demanding if compared back to a decade. It becomes very difficult to schedule a walk early in the morning. So a few minutes spent at the treadmill is sufficient to balance your excessive calorie intake.

Moreover, technology has provided an unprecedented impetus to growth-both physically and mentally. Internet and technology have become the rudiments of education at the primary level. Its indeed time to move in synchronism with the world and try to keep oneself updated with the evolving global changes in minimal timesnap. Secondly, the poor in many parts of the world are elusive of the modern day facilities and technologies. They are definitely no more smart and strong than the urbane counterparts. Exemplifying the fact, many villages in rural India are deprived of basic amenities like electricity and water; leave aside the ultra-modern gadgets and computer technologies. They still form a large chunk of the Below Poverty Line criteria and their annual income comprises close to a 100 USD. But as mentioned, it does not provide them the motivation to turn sassy and smart.

In conclusion, technology today is not considered a luxurious commodity. Its become a primary ingredient for the upliftment and growth for an individual and therefore the nation as a whole. More emphasis should be laid to provide such facilities in pariochals and places where its been unaccessible until now. Individuals deprived of luxuries might be fighting against the gusty torrent but still have to struggle each day to earn themselves a daily meal. Therefore, luxuries provide you with more benefits than they hinder your progress towards becoming strong and independent.

Its is a good piece of work.. but the relevance to the topic is meagre. Luxury and Technology cant be considered clubed under one cap. Technology is very cheap and is accessible to almost anyone who has a basic inclination towrds it. So why deicate so much space for its discussion under this topic?

In search of Happiness!

Vyolet was one of the tiniest and innocent rats living in the jungles of Tabrris. Tabrris was a remote land inhabited by tiny creatures and they would all live in peace and harmony. It was a small jungle where all the animals, birds and insects cohabitated and shared their bliss and misery. Vyolet as a kid never went to school and was a joyous and funny looking animal who always wanted to live a nonchalant life, unconcerned about fame and prosperity. Vyolet would happily live upon the blueberries and the walnuts dismantled from the trees by the violent winds coming from the west. He, like all other animals living in Tabrris would never succumb to the desires of luxury and popularity and was jubilantly performing his jester acts and earning love and respect from the forest animals. Adjoining the jungles of Tabrris was the jungle of Tethis. The animals of Tabrris believed that the land of Tethis was jinxed and the residing creatures imbued immense arrogance, snobbism and did not share an...

This entry is dedicated (sounds mourning, isn’t it); or rather written to honor my closest and dearest chums at Infy. Don’t exactly know where to begin from. But I would like to reincarnate the memories of Hyderabad. Remember the day when we got news of our postings after an extended training at Infosys Mysore. The fairytale starts with a bus ride from Mysore to Hyderabad. A fleet of approx 80 Finaclites, all filled with joy of clearing their compre’s; stepping into their professional careers. I was completely ignorant that a tenth of them would glue together so amazingly that their lives would be entwined in a manner that the threads would always mingle with the present; wherever future takes them and whatever the past impinges upon. The stay at the Woodbridge hotel culminated in moving into our new apartment. Three new folks from different regions, best buddies from college days. I was completely new to their company and not being a hosteller my entire life, brought in varying perspe...

Relativity!

This comes from the heart of India – Purani Delhi . Rajvir grew up amidst the hustle-bustle of the screeching Chandni Chowk , undoubtedly the most chaotic part of north India. Being the only son of the eldest brother amongst his father’s siblings, responsibilities and abiding by them had been an inherited trait for Rajvir. Rajvir’s life had been all about books, household chores and a seldom game of cricket in the inaccessible galis of Ballimaran . Rajvir’s father accumulated money for his only son to ensure he received the best education and a satisfying career. Rajvir went to an international school where his classmates would be offspring of the wealthiest and most influential personalities of Delhi and NCR. He always saw them happy, carefree and ignorant about the problems that existed in a poor man’s household. His family could barely pull out his tuition and he was proud of the sacrifices that his parents did for him. Wherein he saw his schoolmates being driven to school...
