Get Set Goa....

Ever since the advent of 2007 Infosys has had a magnanimous approach towards it gargantuan employee base. I am not trying to elucidate about a salary hike or increasing onsite opportunities. I am indeed referring to the large number of long weekends provided at a stretch. Planning to venture for some adventurous activity over the long weekends would ultimately end up being a fiasco. But finally on the 16th of March we were able to cling to the opportunity of exploring the ever-exciting landscapes of Goa. For people working in a software organization like ours, these little moments of joy come along sporadically. And eventually we wanted to grab the opportunity and make out the most of it. Moreover, the excitement to get nasty along the sandy beaches of Goa mired me to anxiety. We were a bunch of 7 Finaclites from the 10th October, 2005 batch. After allocation of projects we were deported to different locations where Finacle had spread its wings. It was time for a reunion which we all c...

Lost in a Brand

I still remember the day when I saw my name alongside other batch mates who were offered to work with unarguably India’s finest and most respectable software giants. I was paramountly bewildered and realizing the fact mired me to anxiety. To hurdle through a series of daunting exams followed by an intimidating interview embedded a sense of pride amongst me. The euphoria surrounding the fact that I would work alongside the best brains in the country was extremely exhilarating. But it’s been a long time and the feeling just gravitates with the passage of time. The brand name created by a group of young entrepreneurs who augured success and achievement through sheer performance and building upon a value system unprecedented, is truly remarkable. The freedom granted to all employees without considering their background, culture, geographical location and religion stands above the rest. The hierarchy is confined merely to the nature of work undertaken and does not reflect by the individual’...

The Gentleman’s Game

The game played and followed by only a miniscule population until 19 th century has spread its wings across the globe. It was a game popular amongst the English and the Australians. The exciting rules of the game enticed nations to adopt the game and the results are ubiquitous. The first mega cricket event held on a global stage – the 1975 ICC World Cup included 6 prominent teams. The number has sharply augmented to 16 in the recently organized 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. The game has witnessed the rise and fall of many cricketing teams and legends and the history have been phenomenal. The rules and nature of the game has changed manifolds since then, but the enthusiasm and verve doesn ’t seem to fade away. The game has served as a platform for nations to unite and come together irrespective of their caste, creed, mutual rivalries and geographical boundaries. Cricket in the initial era was quoted as a Gentleman’s Game. The umpire was commensurate to a Godfather whose decisions...

Infosys DC wanted Infoscions to come forward and engage in DC Work. From facilities within the DC to Brand Building and Communication. The other aspects of the curriculum were social conscience and people & engagement. I chose Communication and Brand Building coz thats what I am looking to improve in the coming future.. Here is my nomination for the Voice of Youth, 2007. Optimistic about my presentation and looking forward to be a part of it and contribute for betterment of the DC... So here it goes.... ______________________________________________ The success story of Infosys has been privy to billions across the globe. The name that started with a few entrepreneurs trying to create disruptive innovation has created ripples in the global market. Palpable through our brand ambass...
